Franklin University Switzerland
With Galli Sicurezza at the Sorengo campuses.
Franklin University Switzerland represents the excellence of American university education in Europe. In over fifty years of activity in Switzerland, FUS has established itself as a leader in high-level intercultural education, gathering around itself a united and continuously expanding community. At the Ticino campus in Sorengo, there is an extremely stimulating environment thanks to the presence of students from all over the world, sharing interesting and formative knowledge and cultures.
The success of this important university institution is continuously growing, as is the need for new spaces. Recently, in Sorengo, a new modern campus with large spaces dedicated to teaching and student residence has been inaugurated.
The project
The collaboration between Galli Sicurezza and Franklin University Switzerland has been long-standing and continues to ensure maximum security for students, teachers, and all university staff in every teaching and residential environment.
Access control, electronic handles with badge readers, electronic cylinders with online management, verification of escape routes and emergency buttons enabled by badges to open security doors in case of urgency, have long guaranteed protection in the historic campus in Sorengo.
The new campus has been equipped with a SimonsVoss digital opening system with badge recognition to control and ensure security on every door, elevator, access gate, and emergency exits of the new structure. The entire system is managed by a dedicated server and software to ensure specific access privileges for each user, based on assigned function and activity.
One of the main advantages offered by this system is its reliability in preventing loss or theft of cards or badges. In case of loss, blocking or modification of programming is immediate. In addition, the cylinders and handles work on batteries and warn well in advance of the need for replacement. The system is activated by contact, and it is enough to place the card or badge to obtain access. The green light will indicate allowed access, while the red light will signal that the badge has been blocked.
Doors that need to remain locked for safety reasons can be equipped with emergency exit buttons, which perfectly match the SimonsVoss badge reader. In case of emergency or panic, it is sufficient to press the red button to immediately unlock the door safely. In this way, people in the building can quickly and safely exit.
The installation of the system went through a thorough planning process, starting from the installation of mechanical and electronic devices, and reaching the software programming of every detail, in order to allow internal IT staff a simple and complete management of access choices to provide and verify.
The assistance and support of FUS staff by our technicians and the verification of its perfect functionality through a constant maintenance service, ensure the best security guarantee for everyone who attends the new campus in Sorengo.
At the Franklin University campus, the required level of security is extremely high. In addition to the protection provided by mechanical and electronic devices, there are security agents from Gruppo Sicurezza Servizi in uniform, in constant contact with the Satel Operations Center.
Their task is to carry out periodic nighttime rounds in the perimeter areas of buildings, within the premises, and in student residential areas. Their presence serves as a deterrent and reassurance, providing immediate assistance in case of need, and detecting any unwanted presence. In addition, there is a precise and ongoing prevention activity, including checking the closure of doors and windows, monitoring common areas, including kitchens and laundries, and ensuring the proper shutdown of stoves and the disconnection of electrical appliances.
